Automotive Painter

Department: Manufacturing
Location: Montgomery, PA

Ability to do body repairs, blending paint and spot fix, undercoats, primes, ability to do mix paint to proper ratios, paints parts, trucks trailers, bodies, paint prep, taping, cleaning and sanding.

Work in paint booth using spray equipment following paint supplier guidelines, and company and customer standards.   Follow written and verbal instructions to paint units meeting company quality standards.

Detect and report faulty operations, materials and working conditions to supervisor.   Use safety equipment as instructed.  Follow safety regulations and company policies.  

Maintain work area, equipment and tools in clean orderly condition.   

Promote 5S concept of order and housekeeping.

Perform other duties and cross-train as required or assigned.  

Working knowledge of spray paint equipment and technique.

Familiarity with supplied air systems and filter monitoring.  Requires the use of respiratory protection equipment.

Familiarity with EPA regulations regarding the handling of and working around hazardous waste.

Physical fitness to perform all functions of designated work areas.  This includes small tool use, full arm and leg range of motion, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, work in awkward positions.  Must be able to hear and talk for communication between painters while in booth.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.   Must be able to work on scaffolding in an enclosed environment for prolonged periods of time.   Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
